Junior League Top Rope Competition Round 5
Round 3 of the Junior League and the second of the Top Rope rounds will be at CityROCK Johannesburg on 13 June! The athletes (U7 to U13) can arrive at any time from 9am and you have until 2pm to complete 8 routes, ranked from easy peasy to super challenging! Scores will be tracked on the Toproc app.
CityROCK will be sponsoring the competition entry fee for athletes for this round. There will be no fee for belayers and spectators. Non-member Day Visitors who wish to climb as non-competitors will need to pay the day pass rate. Remember, you will need to sign a waiver with the venue. This is a venue hosted event. If you have signed up and are paid up with GC fees, and do the required number of events, you will be able to take part in the Gauteng Climbing Championships at the end of the year! Registrations for GC are still open!
Food and drinks are available at the inhouse Fussy Vegan. Belay tags are required for this venue and all belays must be 18 years or older if assisting children in the competition. Some routes will be set on auto belays. Junior Climbers must be supervised at all times by parents or coaches. Please note that athletes under 13 can boulder with parental supervision in the Kiddies Area. Climbers over 13 can boulder in the main area with parental supervision. We want everyone to be safe on the day! No children will be allowed in the upstairs gym area.
Junior League Round 3 - Top Rope
ROUND 3 Loading! This time CityROCK Irene will be hosting our Junior Crushers (U7 - U13) as they challenge themselves to reach new heights! Don't forget to register so that we know how many competitors to expect on the day! Climbing commences at 9am and ends at 3pm.
Remember, this is a venue run event and anyone is welcome to enter! Only Gauteng Climbing registered athletes will be able to compete in final GC Junior Champs as long as they have done the required amount of rounds for each discipline. Don't miss out! There is still time to get in two Top Rope Comps and two #Boulder rounds!

Junior League Round 2 - Top Rope
Are you ready for Round 2 Juniors? We are! Bring your family and your picnic baskets! Join us for the first Junior Top Rope Competition of 2024 at the @climbingbarn and make a day of it! Venue opens at 10am and you have 2 hours to climb 8 routes from the time that you start. Climbing will be staggered through the day.
We will be having a Family / Interclub Picnic at the same time. Climbers of all ages welcome! Day pass rates apply for non competitors. No fee for spectators or belayers. DM for more information. U7 to U13 climbers can pre-register for the competition at the link in our bio!
Gauteng Climbing will have drinks and snacks for sale on the day.
